Assembly Labor and Employment Committee votes to pass ‪#‎SB548‬, the Raising Child Care Quality and Accessibility Act!

Yesterday the Assembly Labor and Employment Committee voted to pass‪#‎SB548‬, the Raising Child Care Quality and Accessibility Act! This is great news, but there is still a lot of work to be done.

‪#‎Childcare‬ provider Anne Marie Gentry from South Los Angeles and Camille Mahan Carr, a parent from Stockton, California were some of the people who testified in support of #SB548.

“I stand here proudly in support of #SB548, specifically the provision giving these women the right to ‪#‎collectivelybargain‬ with the state” said Carr (pictured on the left). “When these women finally have a seat at the table, they can finally have a say in raising professional standards, increase quality, stabilizing the child care workforce, and help move ‪#‎California‬’s economic recovery forward in a way that helps lift children and families like mine.”
