Child care workers among 10,000 who will mobilize voters on SEIU national day of action

From Oakland to Los Angeles, child care workers will be among the hundreds of volunteers from the Service Employees International Union who will kick off a voter mobilization effort today, part of a day of action that will include more than 10,000 door-knockers and phone-bankers nationwide.

The stakes in this election could not be higher for working people, who are working harder and longer just to make ends meet and build a better future for their families.

The nationwide action by these hard-working women comes at a time when families across the country are facing a crisis in child care. Underpaid working parents can’t afford quality child care and child care providers can’t afford the basics for their own families.
